The Patriots High School Track program exists as an extension of the cross country team. The purpose is to continue building ambitious-minded Patriot runners individually and as a team. The 2025 team will consist of a limited number of competitive runners focused on distance events. When is track season? Track season takes place mid-February through early May. Mandatory at home winter conditioning will begin in early January. Practices will be held Monday and Thursday late afternoons (depending on daylight) hopefully at Woodland Park and a local high school track. Who is eligible to participate? Running experience required. Interested athletes should complete the online application posted here from December 10-January 10. Priority will be given to 2024 cross-country runners. Athletes participating in a second sport will not be prioritized. Invitations will be sent by January 18. Please email Coach Robin for an application: [email protected]. What is the season schedule? Track meets are typically 4-6 (or more) hours long and operate on a rolling start meaning you will not know the exact time of your event. Parents must be available to volunteer at one or more meets. Below is our tentative meet schedule:
March 15, 2025: Siegel Opens (Murfreesboro)
April 5, 2025: Cookeville Invitational (Cookeville) - may be changed due to ACT testing
Mid April TBD, Saturday: CCS Fast Break Invitational (Chattanooga)
Late April TBD, mid-week: Front Runner (Chattanooga)
Early May TBD, Saturday: HXN (Nashville)
Since participation is limited you must be available to participate in 4 of the 5 meets (exceptions made for sickness and injury).
