Newsletter—July/August: Planning on the Expo?

Are you planning to come to the Home Ed. Expo?

Excuses heard for not attending the homeschooling expo:

“But I already have everything I need for school this year.”
All right so you are better organized than the rest of us but you could still come and find great stuff for those nieces and nephews, birthday and Christmas gifts for friends and relations. Remember that most of our vendors are homeschool families. Wouldn’t you rather purchase what you need from them rather than from a big box retailer later in the year?
“But I’ve been to this event before and it will be just like last year.”
That’s what you think. This year we have at least 10 first-time vendors such as:
  • Baker Cornerstone Learning Connection — games and hands-on learning tools for pre-K – 3rd
  • Out of the Woodwork — teaching children how to work with wood, simple wood kits
  • Stephen Seifert Music — mountain dulcimer performer and instructor
  • Progress Academy — Web based curriculum provider K – high school
  • Right Start Math — unique math manipulatives and games
  • God’s World Publication — student magazine of current events from a Christian perspective
  • His Image Ministries — Blackstone audio books, encouraging seminars and dramas, more
  • Live and Learn — Learn N Folders and Journals
  • Homeschooling Mommies — literature to inspire your children.
There are also new workshops such as Math Card Games and Dramatic Monologues.
“One year I went and had to stand in line for an hour.”
Long lines are a thing of the past with our express registration found in the fair flyer or online. If you fill it out and send it in, you can just waltz through registration.
“But I don’t have any money to spend.”

We can all relate to that. Even if you do not plan to buy anything, coming to the Expo is still a wise decision.

First of all, if you renew your ESPRIT subscription at the Expo, you save $3 which is the price of the family admission. So you can come for free. Also, we need experienced homeschoolers to be on hand to wear a silk flower and be ready to answer questions of those just getting started. Plus, you never know how you might meet the need of another person there just in casual conversation. Not to mention all the great workshops that you can attend to get encouragement, inspiration and new ideas. Plus, if that is not enough, there are special deals, free catalogs and a great stuff bag of freebies which you can only get at the Expo.

And the main reason to come… it is the homeschool social event of the season!!! See all your friends and get caught up on their news.

Bring a non-homeschooling friend.

Don’t miss out!
