Newsletter—July: Call for Volunteers

Call for Volunteers

Please consider how you can help ease the burden of putting on the curriculum fair/expo. We need volunteers in 4 areas. Please call the contacts directly or e-mail with your name, phone number and area in which you would like to volunteer. In order of importance these 4 areas with their coordinators are:

  • Registration Table — Here you help process attendees’ forms and payments. This is a fun job because you get to see everyone as they come in. Anyone can do this, we train you on site. Also a great job for homeschool dads. Please volunteer for a 2-hour shift starting at 9 each morning. Please call soon to get the shift of your choosing.

We need about 26 people to volunteer to man the tables. Contact Jeri Taylor by phone at 847-0199 or by .

  • Vendor breakroom — Here you assist the coordinators with putting out snacks and meals for the vendors. This is also a great job because you get to meet some of the vendors and their families. A great opportunity to use your gift of hospitality. Shifts are 2 hours. Contact Gary Hargraves by .
  • Youth volunteers 12 and older are also needed in this area. First to contact by phone gets shift of their choosing. We also need homemade snacks for the vendor breakroom. These need to be brought to the fair/expo on Friday or Saturday. Here is where your budding chefs can help! Contact Carla Stevenson by phone at 855-1656 or by .
  • Set-up and breakdown — Here you get to help our president, Gary Hargraves, and the vendors set up their booths. Adults and teens are preferred. We need volunteers to come to Camp Jordan starting at 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 and Wednesday, July 20 and from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 21. You do not have to come for all three days nor do you have to stay an entire day. Any help during any of these time periods would be appreciated. Set-up and Breakdown Contact: Gary Hargraves by .
  • Public Relations/Media — here you get to help put a public face on our event. You may be asked to talk to a newspaper reporter or do a short radio interview or do an even shorter interview on early morning TV. This is your chance for fame! Please specify what you would be willing to help with. Contact Jeannette Tulis by phone at 332-6459 or by .
