- Watch the young native country folk dance and sing their way through the passions and trials of courtship.
- Watch the measured proud and regal dance of the nobility in its hey-day in the years before the French Revolution.
- Will Casilda and Luiz be forever parted?
- Will one of the newly married couples be forced to part as well?
- Can the Old Nurse identify the young man she cared for so long ago as a baby?
